Lester Lim

Lesdoublewood is the artistic moniker of Lester Lim, a Singapore-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, character-based works, and collectible art.

His fine art practice is distinguished by a playful yet deliberate use of color, simplified forms, and whimsical visual cues. Drawing from childlike sensibilities, his works present moments of lightness and joy while subtly addressing deeper emotional states such as vulnerability, protection, and inner strength—allowing contrast to exist between surface innocence and underlying gravity.

At the core of his practice are recurring characters that function as emotional and symbolic devices. JELILO appears as a figure of protection and resilience, while Ann Chai represents a quieter, more introspective presence—an inner companion shaped by childhood imagination. Ann Chai serves as a lens through which Lesdoublewood observes the world, reflecting curiosity, uncertainty, and the simple yet profound ways a child makes sense of everyday life.

Since becoming a full-time artist, his works have been presented through solo exhibitions in Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as group exhibitions in Thailand and Vietnam. His practice has also extended into collaborations and public showcases with international brands and cultural platforms including Uniqlo, Canon, Wacom, Genting Cruise Lines, Sneaker Con, GastroBeats, Dong Feng Creative Lab, and Artbox.

Working at the intersection of contemporary art and collectible culture, Lesdoublewood continues to expand how character imagery can operate beyond narrative—serving as a bridge between fine art, design, and shared emotional experience.
